Participants will:

  • Receive a comprehensive overview of the materials
  • Experience the New Portage Guide training from the trainer’s perspective
  • Acquire knowledge of observation methods
  • Acquire skills using the Tool for Observation and Planning (TOP)
  • Apply observation skills
  • Acquire training skills
 

Participants will:

  • Identify techniques for individualizing for children
  • Use the TOP, Activity & Routines resource book and supporting materials to do weekly planning
  • Identify parent involvement strategies to use with the NPG
  • Acquire knowledge for application in center base or home visiting programs
  • Assess and reflect on personal facilitation capacities
  • Receive the Training Powerpoint CD
